A versatile mountain bike holiday in the mountains in Filzmoos
The various difficulty levels for individual mountain bike tours in the mountains in Salzburger Sportwelt ensure everyone gets to enjoy a bike adventure. A detailed road bike and mountain bike map is available at Reception and this covers the entire bike region in Salzburger Sportwelt. Specific, detailed tour outlines are available for families, pleasure riders and performance-oriented bikers.
Mountain bikers get to choose between blue, red and black mountain bike routes around Dachstein, that are signposted throughout. The variety-packed routes also partly proceed through the neighbouring towns of Ramsau, Radstadt, Flachau and Altenmarkt.
The area around the mountain village of Filzmoos – between Dachstein and the Bischofsmütze – is ideal suited for E-Bikes. With an electrically-driven motor, E-Bikes make it so much easier to tackle a lot of metres altitude of climbing.
In the sports shops in Filzmoos high-quality are available to hire. There are also plenty of charging stations for E-motors.
The Familienhotel Filzmooserhof has its own, serviced mountain bikes incl. bicycle helmets, which are available for adults and children to hire. Guided MBT – tours to the surrounding alpine pastures are offered once a week as part of the weekly programme of events.

Hofalm & Almsee, green

Route outline:
From the Filzmooserhof bear left at the roundabout – pass the toll area – and proceed along the tarmac toll road to the turn-off for Oberhof-/Unterhofalm. Bear left and continue via the gravel road to the Unterhofalm. Take a left at the Unterhofalm and head up to the Alpine lake, there is a small path around the lake up to the Oberhofalm; proceed back via the toll road to Filzmoos.
Filzmos - Kleinbergalm - Schwaigalm - Übermoos - Filzmoos

Route outline
Familienhotel Filzmooserhof – proceed through the roundabout and take a left to Hofalmen – pass the toll area, the route continues slightly uphill on the tarmac road – bear left and head across the bridge – up to Marcheggsattel – after this continue on the dirt path to the forest road – bear left, continuing to Kleinbergalm, pass Schwarzen Lacke to the fork in the road – now bear left and take the forest road until the next junction – continue on this road and at the junction take a left again on the forest road up to the Schwaigalm – follow the forest road down to the Schwaighof. Cross the country road and follow the cycle path back to Filzmoos (bus parking area opposite the filling station).
Filzmoos- Mandlberggut - mountain pines & schnapps distillery

Familienhotel Filzmooserhof – bear right at the roundabout, and continue to Ramsau. Pass the "MPreis" supermarket, Jugendheim Aumühle, Rabenbichl, ca. 1 ½ km, before the climb bear right, there is a short flat section, bera left along "Warme Mandling". Then bear right across the bridge; the path proceeds a bit steeper uphill, to Mandling. Continue on the relatively flat section on the Mandling altitude trail to Latschenstüberl Mandlberg.
Kleinbergalm circuit

Route outline:
Bear left at the hotel, take a left before the filling station and in front of the primary school take another left and head up up to the Kleinberghof. Proceed along the toboggan run up to the Kleinbergalm – then take the earth path to get on to the forest road. Take a right, passing Schwarze Lacke to the junction – bear left and proceed on the forest road up to the next junction. Continue right and at the next junction bear right and head up on the forest road to the Marcheggsattel – short downhill section – then bear right (past the barriers). Head along the forest road to the toboggan run and down via the Kleinberghof to Filzmoos.
Steinalm circuit

Route outline:
Familienhotel Filzmooserhof – through the roundabout and bear right, continue to Ramsau. Pass Aumühle youth hostel and Rabenbichtl hotel. At the Auschuster bear right on the forest road to the reservoir, continue to the Auwirt. Then proceed on the cycle path to Ramsau/Kulm. At the 14.7 km point, bear left at the Burgstaller. From here a route of ca. 8 km, selective mountain classification, proceeds to the Stein Alm, which becomes slightly steeper and more arduous on the final few metres altitude. Head down via a long forest path. Now follow the road again back to Filzmoos.
